HEERY WINS ASID AWARD FOR THEIR WORK ON THE WOODY HAYES ATHLETIC CENTER

WoodyHayes-1.jpg

We just learned today that the Woody Hayes Athletic Center at The Ohio State University, a HEERY Project; which we were lucky enough to photograph won a Gold ASID award this past spring. This is exciting news because it’s the first time that HEERY has won such an award, it is also<< the first project that Brad has photographed to win a Gold ASID award. So in a bizarre way it's like we've won the award with them.
We would like to congratulate everyone at HEERY and wish them continued success. To see what else HEERY is working on please visit their website.

JASON PUBLISHED IN ROLLING STONE!

RollingStone.jpg

Jason was just published in the October issue of Rolling Stone! We’re all very excited here to see him get his work published in Rolling Stone for the first time.
He went and shot Bruce Springsteen when he came to the Oval at OSU campaigning for now President-Elect Barack Obama. He was shooting for The Other paper but showed the editors at Rolling Stone some of his images, and the rest as they say is history.
Check out Rolling Stone’s website.

BRAD IS ON THE COVER OF CUPOLA

Cupola.jpg

Brad’s image of James Turrell’s Light piece at the Franklin Park Conservatory is on the cover of the latest version of Cupola magazine, the magazine put out by the conservatory. We are pleased to have been a part of such a cool project, as well as to get to meet and work with the artist.
It’s almost to easy to take beautiful pictures when you have a project this cool to work with, isn’t it? If anybody who’s local hasn’t gone and seen it, you should because it’s very worthwhile and it goes on every night so there’s really no excuse. While you’re out you should stop by and support the conservatory, because without them the project would have been possible. To find out more information about the conservatory please visit their website.

MCCOY CENTER WINS AWARD!

McCoy_Board.jpg

The Jeanne B. McCoy Center for the Performing Arts, a building by our friends at Westlake Reed Leskosky, has recently won the Peggy Ezekiel Award for Outstanding Achievement in Theatrical Design. We here at the studio are very excited to have been part of such a great project. WRL entered two boards in the United States Institute for Theater Technology (USITT) Ohio Valley Region Conference held last month where they won the award. The boards that they submitted for the award will now join all of the other regional winners to go on National tour.
While we’re all waiting to hear if and undoubtably wins its next awards, we want to take the chance and tell everyone that’s local here in Columbus to get out and see a show at the theater. To find out what’s playing when at the theater please follow the link. If you have a moment it’s always worthwhile to take spin over to WRL’s website.

MCCOY CENTER FEATURED IN STAGE DIRECTIONS MAGAZINE

McCoyCenter.jpg

We just learned that the Jeanne B. McCoy Center for the Performing Arts, which Brad photographed for Westlake Reed Leskosky, has been featured in the November issue of Stage Directions magazine; the article is featured in the Theater Spaces section, a once monthly are of the magazine that highlights a single specific theater.
The article deals with the conception of the project and how it was designed to blend into the style of surrounding New Albany, as well as to be a platform that can evolve and grow with the community. While the overall design is in harmony with the Georgian theme of New Albany the interior space is specifically designed to be easily used by, and adaptable to all of the community’s current and future needs.
The article can be found online at Stage Directions’ website. If you want to check out what other interesting things that Westlake Reed Leskosky is up to click here.

BRAD’S IMAGE ON THE COVER OF THE AIA’S GUIDE TO COLUMBUS

AIA-cBus.jpg

Brad’s image of the Ohio Supreme Court building is on the cover of the AIA’s guide to Columbus. We would like to thank whoever decided to put our image on the cover. It always feels good to be on a cover, but to be on the cover of an ‘architect’s’ guide to columbus feels somehow even better.
Thanks for making our day.
